No to AI Data Centres

• Ward 5 is home to one of the largest manufacturing and logistical hubs in the country, with vibrant neighbourhoods and an incredible economic engine that is moving this country forward. The data is very clear and has shown time and time again that AI Data Centres take up too much space and resources for very few permanent jobs. The risk and impact on the electrical grid is too high, and by putting in a hyperscaler, we are losing valuable land that can be used for significantly more productive industries that can only be here given our history of established manufacturing and the airport. Furthermore, the proximity to our neighbourhoods makes it impossible to justify adding an AI Data Centre when it can put families' homes at risk of increasing electrical costs. I will be fighting to ensure no AI Data Centre is put here.

Safer Streets and Stronger Community Safety

For many, community comes from a feeling of safety and shelter in your local surroundings. To strengthen Canada, we need to ensure that everyone can feel secure where they live. The sad reality is crime has continued to rise in Ward 5 for over a decade, and it is heartbreaking to hear the stories of our neighbours who are worried about walking alone at any time of the day. I’ll take preventative measures to ensure our future is crime-free, and reactive measures to combat the criminals of today

Preventative Measures to Reduce Crime from Happening

• Youth unemployment is highly linked with crime, and currently Ward 5 has the highest youth unemployment rate in Mississauga, with over 25% of our young people looking for a job. I will work closely with the over 10,000 businesses we have in the area and set up annual Ward 5 Youth Job Fairs. I will also promote local non-profits that help train the future of our society and provide valuable workshops supporting youth looking for employment.

• Improve lighting - crime thrives in the dark, and currently, in various neighbourhoods in Ward 5, home security cameras are useless at night simply because it's too dark to see what is going on

Reactive Measures to Combat Crime that is Happening Now

• The new police station in Malton is 10km away from the community and is not accessible to many. I’ll advocate for expanding the current substation to increase capacity to meet neighbourhood needs - ensuring seniors and those without a car can visit the police station when needed and work with them.

• Provide quarterly updates from Peel Regional Police on Ward 5-level reporting on crime trends, response times and enforcement activity to provide confidence and transparency.

• Work with Safe City Mississauga to encourage more Neighbourhood Watches where members of the community can support each other for a safer community.

Better Transit and Less Traffic

To strengthen Canada, we need to be able to move around freely and not live our lives stuck in traffic. As Mississauga continues to expand as a city, we need to ensure that we do not gridlock the people who live here, nor the people who are moving through the city wherever we can.

Transit You Can Trust

• Mississauga has millions of boardings annually; however, only 73% of the time the bus is here on schedule. One of the biggest barriers to more people using our transit is that they simply do not trust MiWay as their commute partner. I will be working to set up real-time bus tracking so that riders can plan around the buses and feel at ease knowing real-time arrivals and departures.

Safer Roads

• Based on the past data and community consultation, I will be identifying Ward 5’s high-risk streets, school zones and intersections and then work with city staff to prioritise proven measures such as speed humps, raised crossings, safer intersection design, improved lighting and targeted police enforcement. I will publish quarterly updates on road-safety concerns, actions taken and results so that residents can be part of improvements being made.

Property Tax Freeze

• Property Tax has gone up by 30% in the last 4 years! This massive increase only adds to the chaos during this time of uncertainty and the cost of living crisis. At the same time last year, the City found $17.6 million in savings without an external Auditor. I will be advocating to hire an external Auditor immediately whose sole job is to conduct line-by-line audits to recognize further savings. Furthermore, as outlined in the rest of my plan, I’ll bring practical measures to reduce the cost of running the city and avoid extra "maintenance fees".

Cleaner, Better-Maintained Neighbourhoods

The goal of the city should never be to punish people; it should be to ensure our properties are well kept and not impeding any pedestrians, passersby, and our seniors and kids feel cared for on the streets. For this, I will be launching a program where, if, after 2 notices, the homeowner does not comply with the current by-laws, the City will take care of the required job at the property and charge the homeowner. This way, we can keep respect for our taxpayers while also ensuring our Ward is beautiful and clean.

Moreover, as councillor, I would push for a citywide neighbourhood standards program that tracks repeat complaints, resolution times and recurring problem properties, with stronger follow-up for repeat offenders and proactive inspections in problem areas. I believe enforcement should be paired with education: residents should receive clear information about the violation and action needed, and a reasonable timeline to comply before escalating appropriate penalties.

I would also support better coordination between property standards, parking and licensing enforcement, and public reporting throughout the ward so residents can see whether conditions are actually improving. The goal should be compliance first, with stronger penalties for those who repeatedly refuse to address problems.

A Place You Can Call Home

A housing crisis is actually a living crisis. When our people have difficulty buying and keeping their homes, everything gets worse, from crime to living standards to moral values. We need creative solutions and open minds to help people find a place they can call home. I will start by opening up development opportunities for homeowners to set up garden suites to help expand supply. Moreover, Mississauga has over 475 vacant lots, including many in public transit corridors, that need to be redeveloped immediately to create the next set of neighbourhoods for our future generations

• Given the distance from City Hall to parts of Ward 5, I’m committed to a satellite office in Malton with after office hours to ensure people can voice their concerns and meet me in person without having to spend hours commuting.

Support for Local Businesses

• We will be holding quarterly business roundtables, creating direct channels, and faster permit services for business expansion.
• I’ll host town halls to help businesses navigate the complex nature of city services and licensing.
